CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

At Blue Concept Asia, an independent and professional firm based in Hong Kong, launched its business activities in 2020 with the mission to approach each of our clients with fresh eyes to develop customized, unique solutions by offering a wide range of wealth planning and business consulting to individuals such as entrepreneurs, expats, high-net-worth individuals as well as families, we believe that our endeavours help drive the economy, but we wish to deepen our impact by supporting worthwhile causes and initiatives for the local community in Hong Kong.

This October 2021, our founder and CEO, namely Daniel MIJIC, has decided that Blue Concept Asia will join the PINK TOGETHER 2021 campaign of the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation (hkbcf.org), to raise public awareness of breast cancer in Hong Kong amongst our professional network.

To support this campaign, we set our donation goal at HKD10,000 (Hong Kong Dollars ten thousand).

PINK TOGETHER 2021 | HONG KONG BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION

Ever since 1985, when October was declared International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the autumn period has served as the backdrop for walks, runs, conferences, and various other fundraisers. Across the world, people who battled the disease, loved ones, and supporters come together to educate, amplify one another’s voices, and to raise public consciousness about various aspects of breast cancer.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer facing women around the world and an important public health issue. Over the past 10 years, the breast cancer incidence rate has continued to drop in North America but climbed in Asia. According to the Hong Kong Cancer Registry, Hospital Authority (ha.org.hk), 12 women are diagnosed with breast cancer per day in Hong Kong.

As encouraged by the HKBCF, participants of the campaign shall complete 12km in any format to raise the awareness of breast cancer.

As the theme for our event, we hosted a fundraising hike called “Pink Hike for Breast Cancer Awareness” on the last weekend of October 2021. As encouraged by the HKBCF, a group of a dozen tracked a 12-kilometre trail through some of Hong Kong’s most iconic areas; starting at the frontline of the Hong Kong Skyline at the Harbour Front next to the Observation Wheel, passing by the well-known “Star Ferry” and “Macau Ferry Terminal”, stopping by in Kennedy Town for a coffee break and continuing towards the world-famous tourist spot, the Victoria Peak, and finishing this special charity hike after 12.4km in the area of SoHo with some food and drinks, sponsored by Blue Concept Asia and RioDefi.

To raise the awareness of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the campaign itself, Blue Concept Asia provided the hikers with custom-made pink t-shirts, which caught the attention of people throughout our hike. It was a great way to spread the message of solidarity by drawing attention to the cause.

We, at Blue Concept Asia, are proud to unite people under a common cause and are touched by the response, we received when we reached out to organise the event.

At this occasion, we would like to address our warmest thanks to Mr James ANDERSON (CEO of RioDefi – www.riochain.io)) and his participating team members; Mr Bjoern WILBRINK (CEO of Bjorn Limited – www.bjorn-limited.com) and a world-famous Master of Ceremony known as “MC GOOS” (www.mc-goos.com); Miss Kaye CHAU, a young, talented, female Hong Kong entrepreneur (HOME (lammaste.com)); the SPIRGI brothers, Joshua and Corvin, from hkBREADBOX, who provided the hikers with Swiss-quality bread buns made in Hong Kong, and to our founder’s, namely Dani MIJIC, friends and fellow alumni from the University of Manchester’s Hong Kong branch.

Last but not least, we are also proud being able to add some “glamour and celebrity status” to our group by having the former Miss Serbia 2018 joining us for the hike, namely Miss Ivana TRISIC (https://www.angelopedia.com/news/Exclusive-Interview-Miss-World-2018-Ivana-Trisic/46717), today a member of RioDefi.

PINK TOGETHER 2021 | DONATION GOAL REACHED AND EXTENDED

We managed to put together a diverse group of supporters from all kinds of backgrounds such as FinTech, Finance, Event and Entertainment, Food and Beverage, Jewellery, Alumni as well as other Hong Kong professionals and friends.

All of whom were wishing to share our support for loved ones battling breast cancer, for those who have lost family members or close friends to the disease, for survivors, and for our hope for a brighter future.

This close connection, together with the good news of having reached our fundraising goal earlier in the day, meant that everyone was very motivated, which was reflected in individual contributions to make this a truly special day.
Since the deadline of the campaign has been extended until 16 November 2021, we at Blue Concept Asia - Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation (pinktogether.hk) have decided to extend our donation goal to HKD15,000 (Hong Kong Dollar fifteen thousand).

We hope that both, women and men, can partake and “buddy up” with their loved ones to protect themselves by going for regular mammograms and practicing self -examination for early breast cancer detection.

Together, we can change the world!
